My name is Jolie Ngoy I am 37 years old and mother of 2 children, I am a seamstress / stylist / craftswoman / self-taught artist who produces a whole series of creations with the loincloth as main material (jewelry, paintings, bags, covers, comforters, wall trophies, ...) I enhance the cultural riches of my country DR. Congo by my loincloth products, the loincloth which in my opinion is not only a simple piece of fabric, but reflects the images, the smells and the sensations of my childhood and therefore is an integral part of my cultural heritage and my identity. I lived my art and my talent for a long time in silence, stifled by the stereotypes of my entourage. I saw myself very young diverted by the prejudices of my environment on this trade of couturier qualified formerly of "without future". During my university studies and after, during my first steps in the professional life within the various companies, I I continued to live my art and talent in silence. It was in 2011 that I created my workshop "The needle of Jolie", in which I worked first alone, next to my work. 2019, on the other hand, I made the decision to focus entirely on my passion. Currently I live in Belgium where I continue my passion.
